And the final performance of the night was from Passion Pit, a band from Boston, MA. They were pretty amazing live! If you haven't heard of them before, check out the video below of one of their songs:
They're so awesome!
And that's all for my Indie Awards blog posts! Next up: More artist/band interviews and even a sneak peak of a covershoot with Marianas Trench. Stay tuned.
Rich Aucoin sure knows how to get a crowd going. From adrenaline-pumping remixes to crowd-surfing, his performance was definitely my favourite part of The Indies. Not only did he incorporate the famous Bed Intruder and Double Rainbow Youtube videos into his set, but he also brought out one of those giant rainbow-coloured parachute things we all used to play with in elementary school. Definitely check out his music if you haven't already!
The Sheepdogs were big winners of the night, winning multiple Indie Awards, and honestly, I hadn't really listened to their music before. But after seeing them perform live, I actually really liked it -- I'm a fan! And as a special guest during their performance, the legendary Paul Rodgers joined in for a few songs! Check out the photos :)
This year, the Indie Awards celebrated the accomplishments of the band Treble Charger by inducting them into the Hall of Fame. This award was presented by Brendan Canning of Broken Social Scene.
Treble Charger performed before receiving the Hall of Fame plaque.
