World of Dance Toronto 2011

Hey everyone!

Now that all the TIFF madness is over, I've been able to focus more on everything else going on in the city. And being in Toronto, there is always something happening...which is why I love it here!

Just this past weekend, the World of Dance Tour made its very first Toronto stop and I was glad I was able to check it out! I was also fortunate enough to go to the Vancouver stop, which took place this summer (I took photos at it for Hush Magazine), so I was super pumped when I realized I'd get to go to TWO amazing dance events.

And being here in Toronto, I've been able to meet a lot of amazing dancers, mainly through my experience on the Ryerson hip hop dance team. So I showed my support to a bunch of them who were competing on the stage at The Sound Academy for this year's TO World of Dance.

If you don't know what World of Dance is...well you can Google it. But it's pretty much a huge dance festival that features not only amazing performers, but also other aspects of the hip hop community, from beat boxing to graffiti. Aside from the main stage competition, there were also bboy, popping, locking, and freestyle battles.

AND Season 6 America's Best Dance Crew winners I.aM.mE were there as special guest performers!

Fo' Real Crew
There were definitely a lot of amazing crews competing for the title of World of Dance Champions 2011! The results were:

1st Place: The OG (Original Gentlemen)
2nd Place: Bucc N Flavr
3rd Place: Projextz

I love the TO dance scene! Definitely inspired.

TIFF 2011: 50/50 Premiere

Hey everyone!

Today was the big day...Joseph Gordon Levitt would be at Ryerson Theatre. He was here for the premiere of 50/50, which also stars Seth Rogan, Anna Kendrick, and Bryce Dallas Howard, who all made an appearance.

I have been such a huge fan of JGL. But it was disappointing because he didn't stop and interact with his fans...And I could tell that a lot of people around me were quite annoyed.

But all in all, at least I got to see him!

Oh! And Kathy Griffin made a surprise appearance!

TIFF 2011: Your Sister's Sister Premiere

The premiere of Your Sister's Sister took place at the Ryerson Theatre on Sunday, September 11 and Emily Blunt graced us with her presence.

I absolutely LOVE her, so I definitely couldn't wait to see her in person. She looked fabulous and I was able to get her autograph!

Also, as a surprise guest, Ewan McGregor showed up!

Ewan and Emily, how cute

TIFF 2011: Martha Marcy May Marlene Premiere

I just had to begin this post with my favourite photo from this premiere. Do I even need to explain why...

Hugh Dancy (who typically plays the prince charming/love interest in many of my favourite movies) is such a wonderful guy in person. Enough said.

Hugh Dancy, along with co-stars Elizabeth Olsen (Yes, the sibling of the famous Mary-Kate and Ashley, and inspiration behind the name of their clothing line Elizabeth and James) and Sarah Paulson made an appearance at their premiere for Martha Marcy May Marlene.

Guess who made a surprise appearance: Juliette Lewis!

Diesel Presents ONEXONE ft. Lupe Fiasco & Guests

Hey everyone!

As a part of all the TIFF excitement, a lot of special events have been happening all throughout the city. One of which was a special Lupe Fiasco concert ft Melanie Fiona and Kardinal Offishall presented by Diesel in support of ONEXONE.

Luckily, I won tickets to the event over Twitter (gotta love Twitter!) and was able to check it out.

Also spotted: Mary Murphy and Blake McGrath from So You Think You Can Dance.

Here are my photos! (I didn't bring my DSLR, so forgive me)
