On Tuesday, July 17, the nominees for the 2012 Polaris Music Prize were announced in the form of the top 10 Short List. The revealing took place at The Drake Hotel and was broadcast live on CBC radio. The Polaris Music Prize is based on artistic merit, rather than record sales, so it'll be interesting to see which Canadian album will come out on top! The winner will be announced on September 24 and will receive $30,000.
