EVENT | A$AP Rocky hosts FA$HION KILLAH in Toronto

I swear, everything happens at the exact same time and is always conflicting with each other.

This week is both Canadian Music Week and Toronto Fashion Week - which is very inconvenient for someone like myself who would love to attend both. But this year, I'm focusing more on the music side. So when I came across this event that brought the two together, I jumped on the chance to attend.

As a part of CMW, Rihanna came to town and played two sold out shows this past Monday and Tuesday at the ACC. And she brought along A$AP Rocky - my fave.

On Monday night, following his performance opening up for RiRi, A$AP hosted a Toronto Fashion Week launch party at Maison Mercer, presented by The Coveteur, Thomas Neary and Belvedere Vodka.

I've been fortunate enough to see A$AP perform live twice (last year at Osheaga and this past February in NYC), so I was okay with going to an event where he was just going to be partying the night away.

Here's his song "Fashion Killa" for your enjoyment:

He's just so cool.

The Coveteur Team at Holt Renfrew!

Hey everyone!

I hope you all are having a fabulous weekend! After a pretty quiet week, I was excited for an event being held at Holt Renfrew on Saturday, August 27th. If you are not already familiar with The Coveteur, you should! But if not, take a look at their amazing site: http://thecoveteur.com/ and drool over the fantastic pieces found in some of the most sough after wardrobes. From Joanna Hillman (Senior Fashion Market Editor at Harper's Bazaar, who happened to make an appearance at the event as well!) to John Gerhardt (Creative Director at Holt Renfrew), the team at The Coveteur have captured their personalities through photographing them in their most intimate spaces. The creators of the extremely successful site made their first official personal appearance at the Holt Renfrew store on Bloor Street and were interviewed by Barbara Atkin, Vice President of Fashion Direction at Holt Renfrew. Erin Kleinberg, Stephanie Mark, and Jake Rosenberg were so personable and gave great insight into their journey to becoming internationally recognized.

I attended the event with the chic Sparks twins, Brittany and Maleah (http://www.sparkstwins.com) and we got a great spot in the front during the interview. I thought it was very well done and it was great to hear how they got started with blogging and their thoughts on the impact of social media. And I love how all three of the creators are Torontonians and have come such a long way since they began.

My favourite question asked was: Whose closet do you wish you could shoot?

Stephanie: Fran Drescher
Erin: Hugh Hefner
Jake: Neil Young

Amazing!

After the interview, they all mingled among the crowd and I had a chance to talk to them and take some photos. They are such nice, humble people and I'm so glad to have met them. They're quite inspirational, since they were able to come up with an idea that made them stand out among the others in the sea of fashion blogs.

Anyway, if you get a chance, definitely check out the exclusive display at Holt Renfrew, which goes on now until Sept. 8!

Take a look at some of my photos!
