Peace out 2014, it's been rad.

At the start of 2014, I had no idea what to expect for the year ahead. Little did I know that I was in for a ton of amazing adventures and surprises that would take me to where I am today. I was open to new things and was ready to challenge myself in ways that I never would've imagined. Here's a look into this year's highlights:

THE PEOPLE
I've always known about the importance of surrounding yourself with the right people, but I think this year it really stuck with me. The people who I've had the pleasure of knowing and meeting this year have brought experiences, opportunities and memories that will last a lifetime. My family and friends have always been there for me and their positivity and encouragement really keeps me going. Sorry for being a cheese ball, but I had to say it at some point. I'm honestly surrounded by the most talented and passionate people who inspire me on a daily basis.

MY LIFE | NYC Week 17

So I've been documenting each week since my big move to my favourite city, and I gotta say it's been such an amazing experience. I've finished up one semester and 2015 is just around the corner—crazy how fast time flies. Here's what I got up to Dec.15-21:

This month, I swung by the debut US location of French accessory brand Côte&Ciel—a cool pop-up space at 355 Bowery in NYC. If you're in need of a great travel bag that is a perfect combination of modern, stylish and functional, you'll find it here. Check out the pop-up shop now through January 23rd, 2015.

NYU | Fashion Technology in NYC

It's crazy how fast this first semester at NYU flew by. My grad program is only three semesters in total and I can't believe I'm basically 1/3 of the way there. Weird. Anyway, I just submitted my final project for my reporting class—we could choose any topic and any medium. I chose to do a video looking into New York's fashion technology scene.

EVENT | Rebecca Minkoff x PS- I Made This

Earlier this week, I checked out a fun Girls Night Out event at the newly opened Rebecca Minkoff store in Soho. Guests were invited to take part in a fun DIY project with ultimate craftster Erica Domesek (aka the genius behind PS- I Made This): adding your own personal style to a simple baseball cap. You could add pompoms, feathers and/or jewels. And of course there were drinks and cute treats involved. Rebecca Minkoff herself even joined the party! Take a look:

EVENT | Teen Vogue x Man Repeller x Phillip Lim

As a longtime fan of Teen Vogue, I always love checking out the cool and fun events they have whenever I'm in New York. And now that I live here, it's nice to be able to get out to a lot more of them. I recently sat in the audience of a panel discussion and book signing for The Teen Vogue Handbook, featuring Editor in Chief Amy Astley and Editors Elaine Welteroth & Drew Elovitz, along with the Man Repeller herself Leandra Medine and fashion designer Phillip Lim. This is the second edition of the handbook, which has a lot of new information for anyone hoping to get into the fashion industry.

 Such a rock star panel:
