Earlier this month, I had the pleasure of meeting and chatting with
Vancouver musician David Ward. I interviewed him before his show at the
Tranzac Club in Toronto for Faze Magazine. His new album, Golden Future
Time, is a two part saga that showcases two different sounds — "Side A
is more cinematic spooky art rock and on side B there's more
synthesizer-based experimental soul jams," David explains. It was
released on January 28, 2014.
What is it about music?
"I just love it. I
love listening to it, I love making it. When you're singing on stage
live and you're connecting with people on that kind of level, it's a
spiritual experience. There's something so special about music, the way
it translates to people and the way it translates to me. It carries so
much, the stories, emotions, lessons—it's a special art form."
