MY LIFE | Turning 23

So this week I turned 23 years old. My first NYC birthday obviously revolved around food.

The day began with a delicious pizza lunch at Freddie & Peppers and then dessert in the form of a giant chocolate chip and walnut cookie from Levain Bakery.

EVENT | Women Entrepreneurs Festival 2015

Last week, I had the pleasure of hearing the legendary fashion industry icon Diane von Furstenberg speak on campus at NYU. She was the keynote speaker and was such a fantastic choice to get an inspirational weekend started. DVF spoke candidly and openly about her humble beginnings and how she got to where she is today.

WE Festival co-founder Joanne Wilson did a conversational interview with DVF and it was enlightening and hilarious.

MOVIES | Ned Rifle x Kickstarter

Image via Facebook
Last week I swung by the Kickstarter HQ in Brooklyn for a screening and special Q&A with director Hal Hartley for his new film Ned Rifle. This is the third and final installment in a series of films Hartley's directed—following Henry Fool (1997) and Fay Grim (2007). Both are on Netflix, FYI!

I've become fascinated by the world of crowdfunding and am constantly amazed by the incredible and creative projects that come out of it, especially with films (another one that comes to mind is the Veronica Mars movie).

Ned Rifle stars Liam Aiken (Ned Rifle) and Aubrey Plaza (Susan Weber). I have to admit, I have an increasing obsession with Aubrey Plaza, so I was even more excited to find out that she was in it.

MY LIFE | Vancouver Holidays

It's always nice to be back on the west coast for the holidays! I've been home for nearly three weeks now and I've gotten to spend a lot of time with family, catch up with old friends and enjoy the perks of living at home.

Take a look into my mini escape from NYC:

MY LIFE | Vegas, because why not?

The day after Christmas, I joined my family on a trip to Vegas as a last-minute add-on. My sister had a softball camp out there, so it wasn't your typical Vegas vacay, but I had a pretty good time. It was relaxing, which was a change f'sho. I climbed some rocks and took some majestic photos of a random dog, I spent lots of time admiring the palm trees, and I got to see Britney Spears live at Planet Hollywood.

Take a look!
