JUNO HOOPS!


Hey everyone!

It's getting closer and closer to the Juno Awards (Sunday, March 27th) and there have been some cool events throughout the city to get everyone pumped up! As a part of Juno Week, there was an event here at Ryerson called Juno Hoops on Monday, March 21 and it brought Ryerson athletes together with some celebrities for a great basketball game for charity. It was presented by The Globe and Mail, sponsored by clotheyourcity.com and it was a benefit for MusiCounts.


Here are some of the celebrities who participated:

DJ Scratch Bastid - first ever DJ to be nominated for a Juno Award
Will Strickland - former professional player and UMAC president
Ray Robinson - R&B star
Donovan Bailey - Olympic double gold medalist sprinter
J.E Skeets & Tas Melas - Co-hosts of The Basketball Jones Show on The Score
Michael Grange - sports writer for The Globe and Mail
DJ Future the Prince - Drake's official tour DJ
Devo Brown - Media personality

Tanya Kim - host on eTalk
Archie Alleyne - Drummer



Commentator:

Mark Strong - Toronto Rapters game day host and hype man


Normally, as you may have noticed, I tend to avoid sports. But in this case, I'm glad I checked this out, because I had a pretty good time!
