I've interviewed Canadian musician Scotty James a few times, but most recently, he's taking on a huge challenge. Read about it here in my article for Faze.ca:

At Faze Magazine's Glow Girl event in December, I was reunited with a musician from Waterloo who I had interviewed during Canadian Music Week. Singer-songwriter Scotty James performed on our Faze stage and the girls were loving his charming personality and catchy songs. If you haven't heard his music yet, definitely check it out! Here's his popular single "Wanna Be Loved" -

The Faze TV team and I did a pre-event interview with Scotty in the green room and it was a lot of fun. He even liked my red American Apparel jacket so much that we decided to switch outfits for the interview. I think he rocked it pretty well!
Earlier this month, Faze Magazine held another one of its fabulous Glow Girl event, full of amazing performances, delicious treats and fun beauty stations. This year's event took place at the Capitol Event Theatre and there was a great turn out. Tons of fans came out to catch some of their favourite performers up close and personal - and at no cost. These Faze events are always free, which is definitely a bonus! (You can check out my coverage of last year's Glow Girl event HERE)

From knocking on doors with a guitar in hand to gaining more than 14,000 Facebook fans, singer-songwriter Scotty James has come a long way. Originally from Waterloo, Ontario, as a desperate search to start his career, he played songs for people on their front porches. And besides occasionally getting invites to pool parties and steak dinners, he eventually knocked on the door of his future manager. Since then, James has been able to perform his original songs across Ontario, finding his way to this year’s Canadian Music Week.
This was his first year showcasing and he got to perform two shows, both at The Hideout out on Queen West. He thought it was an awesome venue, full of energy and great support, and he was looking forward to meeting and performing in front of new people.
Describing his sound as a more upbeat John Mayer, his catchy songs are gaining popularity on radio stations and YouTube. His summertime feel song “Wanna Be Loved” has been a hit on YouTube and he has a new single coming out called “Never.”
He is currently working on a new album and planning shows for the summer, while also hoping to branch out to the U.S. You can check out more of his music on his website: http://scottyjamesmusic.com/.
