After the awards were all handed out, the only performers left were east coast rocker Matt Mays and Toronto band Metric. The audience was pumped and you could feel the energy throughout The Kool Haus.
I absolutely love Metric. I also got to see them perform at Osheaga last year (and ran into them in downtown Montreal!) but this was awesome to be seeing them from the photo pit right up front!
Vancouver group Dirty Radio presented the award for Favourite Artist of the Year. Carly Rae Jepsen was the winner, but she wasn't there to accept it...
Scott Jackson presented the award for Favourite Collaboration of the Year.
Alyssa Reid accepted the award on behalf of Artists Against Bullying's "True Colours." The video featured Jacob Hoggard, Lights, Pierre Bouvier, Fefe Dobson, Kardinal Offishall, Alyssa Reid, and Walk Off The Earth
Here's the video if you didn't get a chance to check it out yet:
Next, Montreal folk band Canailles took the stage.
Shad presented the award for Female Artist of the Year.
The winner: Cold Specks
Alyssa Reid presented the award for Male Artist of the Year.
The winner: rocker Matt Mays.

Last Friday, I got to cover the SiriusXM Indie Awards for Faze Magazine. This year, they moved the event to a new venue: the Kool Haus. I thought it was a great set-up and I had a lot of fun! I took tons of photos, so I'm going to separate this into a few different posts - enjoy!
The green room, where industry folks, media and artists mingled.
Diamond Rings being interviewed - he was one of the performers of the night
Jeff Leake (Director of Music Programming at SiriusXM) was the host for the evening
Hip hop artist Cadence Weapon opened up the show. He won the award for favourite Rap/Hip-Hop Artist or Group of the Year.
Sharlene Chiu & Daniel Victor presented the award for favourite Video of the Year.
The winners: Marianas Trench
Australian rapper 360 was the next performer. He killed it up on stage - he's so cool!
If you haven't heard of 360 yet, here's his video for his hit track "Child"
